Fairy

Summary

Fairies are a race of Fae with bug-like wings (usually). All Fairies have a natural size of about 2 inches tall, but they can grow and shrink at will. When not shrunken, Fairies can have a minimum height of 4'0" and a maximum height of 7'0". All Fairies (except Ellylldans) have names in the Fae language which is almost identical to Elvish (aka they have Elvish names). Note: It is often argued that Elvish is derived from Fae as the only difference between Elvish and Fae is that there are no spoken prepositions in Fae. All Fae races have silver colored blood (similar in color and texture to mercury), and thus all Fairies have silver colored blood. All Fae races have pointed ears, and thus all Fairies have pointed ears (any type of pointed ear is possible).

Laumans, Mirtisans, Ziemians, and Vejasans can't regrow their wings if they are ripped out. But their wings will mend back together similar to the way a bone does when broken and then repaired. A Mirtisan's ability to fly is not affected by a lack of or damage to their wings.

Ellylldan

fire fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

Fire Fairies are the most unique of all the fairy subspecies. The official name for Fire Fairy is Ellylldan.

Skin

Ellylldan have golden patterns, similar in appearance to tattoos, all over their bodies on their skin. Ellylldan can have any skin color except gold or yellow.

Eyes

Ellylldan can only have auburn or golden eyes. But, when they are doing their ‘job’, their eyes turn red.

Hair

Ellylldan have the same hair color as they did in their previous life, but their hair is much longer than it was in their previous life. Hair color is the only physical feature they retain from their past life.

Body

Ellylldan have pointed wings 'made' of golden fire. They also can emit a powerful glow that envelops them and makes it impossible to see their bodies. These wings are an illusion, and though they look like they are made of fire, they are simply made to look this way. If one were to touch the wings, they would only feel a gentle heat.

Ellylldan do not need to eat or drink to survive, but if they do want to eat, whatever they eat must contain or be topped with a type of honey, known as ambrosia, that is excreted from a honeycomb-like substance found growing within the Ellylldan’s flower. If they try to eat something without the honey, they will become sick and be in excruciating pain for 2 days.

Ellylldan aren’t immune to anything, as they are affected by everything a Human would be. But, when they “die”, they simply vanish into a puff of flame and reappear right back inside their flower bulb good as new. This typically means that Ellylldan view death very lightly, and some even use it as a quick way to get back home. – When an Ellylldan “dies” all of their belongings and clothes go with them.

Age

Ellylldan are doomed to an eternal existence; they cannot age.

History/Information

Ellylldan are the most unique of all of the fairy subspecies due to the fact that not only are they eternal, but that they were not born in the traditional sense. Ellylldan are actually reincarnated souls that have been cursed to an eternal existence. The only way to become an Ellylldan is to be wronged beyond repair, to then commit a heinous and unforgivable crime out of spite, and afterward to be so overwhelmed by regret that one kills themselves. After these conditions have been met, the soul is reincarnated into the body of a Ellylldan. The reincarnation process begins by a giant flower bulb growing out of the ground in the swamp city of “Huna’Arda”, which translates to “Cursed Earth”. Then, a cocoon will form inside the flower from which the Ellylldan will be formed. Once the Ellylldan has been formed and the soul placed into the body, the Ellylldan emerges the same age as they were in their previous life before they died. They will be this age for the rest of eternity. So far, this existence does not sound all bad, but there is always a catch. In this case, the catch is the fact that for the rest of eternity the Ellylldan will be forced to charm and kill those that have committed crimes similar to what they were wronged for in their previous life. This means that for eternity they will continue to be flooded with guilt as they are forced by their own nature to kill over and over. Some Ellylldan at first try to completely ignore their nature, but if a Ellylldan tries to go against that nature for more than 2 months, that nature will take over their body and will kill anyone; not simply someone that has committed a wrong doing.

Ellylldan flowers are large flower bulbs that the Ellylldan are formed in, as well as where they live for all of eternity. Inside the flower, a honey-like substance, known as ambrosia, is excreted from a honeycomb-like material that typically grows from the “ceiling”. Ambrosia is a highly sought-after material, as it is an incredibly unique substance that makes anything taste better; even foods that a person hates will suddenly become delicious if ambrosia is added to it. Ambrosia is thus considered an extremely valuable delicacy. But, it is not the only treasure that an Ellylldan’s flower contains, as it also has piles of magical items and items made from gold, diamond, emerald, ruby, and silver. These items are formed magically inside the flower each time an Ellylldan kills. Many people often chortle at the idea of it being a “reward”, but Ellylldan’s have no need for money or valuables, so they typically keep the items as physical embodiments of their guilt. With all of this in mind, it is hard for some to believe that there aren’t Ellylldan farms from people who have taken an Ellylldan’s flower for their own personal gain. But, a little known fact is that the Ellylldan’s flowers are magically protected by a kind of “force field”, so to speak; in that no one can even touch the flower or its roots without having their skin melted. This “force field” effects everyone except for the Ellylldan whose flower it is; this means that even other Ellylldans can be harmed.

Culture

Religion

Ellylldan worship the deities that they did in their previous life.

Family

Ellylldan typically have no family in order to protect others from themselves. Ellylldan are also infertile.

Traditions

Ellylldan have no traditions other than their ‘job’.

Fighting

Powers

Ellylldan have innate fire magic and charm curse abilities.

Preferred Fighting Style

Ellylldan never fight, it is not in their nature. Instead, they lure victims so that they drown, fall off of high places, or catch themselves on fire.

Weaknesses

As previously stated, Ellylldans can’t “die”, but they can “pass on” by learning to forgive themselves. If they manage to do so, their body disintegrates as their soul leaves either to be properly reincarnated or to spend eternity in the afterlife. This can’t be faked or forced, and it must be genuine. An Ellylldan “passing on” is extremely rare.

Names

Ellylldans have the names they had in their previous lives.

Leanan

water fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

Water Fairies are often called water nymphs, but their official name is Leanan.

Skin

Leanans have the same skin possibilities as Humans, except for the fact that either on the palms of their hands, at the nape of their necks, or at the corners of their eyes are blue swirls, similar in appearance to tattoos. The location of the swirls indicates the Leanan’s water magic specialty; on the hands means that they are skilled at water manipulation and illusions, at the nape of the neck means that they are skilled in using water magic to amplify their voices to charm and attack, and at the corners of the eyes means that they are skilled in using water magic in unconventional ways (this can mean using both ice and water magic, using water magic to summon beings and creatures, using water magic to see the past or future, or using water magic to teleport). These swirls glow when a Leanan uses their water magic abilities.

Eyes

Leanans can have blue, white, green, or brown eyes.

Hair

Leanans can have brown, blonde, white, ginger, black, or blue hair.

Body

Leanans choose their wings when they turn 10, as they can have any wing type/shape (even bird-like wings), and their wings are made of water (or in some rare cases, ice). After a Leanan chooses their wing shape, they can never change it.

Age

Leanans have a maximum lifespan of 700 years.

History/Information

Leanans are one of the four fairy groups of Alya, the biggest fairy city in Annwn, and thus they share most of their History/Information with these other groups. Leanans specifically, are recognized due to their duties in the city of Alya to maintain suitable irrigation and drinking water systems. Outside of Alya, however, they are known as the tricksters of the fairy subspecies, as the most common type of Leanan are the ones with swirls on their hands, aka ones that are skilled illusionists.

The following applies to Leanans, Laumans, Ziemians, and Vejasans: The city of Alya is suspected to be the first city ever created in Annwn, and even though there is not much proof of this claim, this is a generally accepted idea. The reason for this, is that fairies are believed to have existed far longer than any other race of Annwn, but they also have no known evolutionary ancestors. This clouds their History/Information in a thick fog of mystery, and given the lack of recorded works by the fairies, rumors such as these seem especially plausible.

Culture

Religion

All fairies of Alya worship the Goddess of Fae that they know as Mab. Outside Leanans, though, tend to worship the God of Flowing Water known as Neptune, a unique God that has only been seen being worshipped by Leanans.

Family

Leanans have an average family unit of 4 people.

Traditions

All fairies of Alya celebrate “Aute’Shee’Re” which from Fae roughly translates to “The Day of the Fairy Goddess”. They celebrate this holiday in midsummer, on the first day in July, when the giant flowers and mushrooms of the city glow a soft heavenly blue. During this holiday, a grand festival is held, but other races are forbidden from visiting the city or taking part in the celebration, though this is perhaps because the festival buildings are so small and usually stepped on by other races.

Leanans outside the city of Alya, celebrate a holiday that is held on a day dependent upon where the Leanan lives. This holiday is known as “Khelek Quella'Re” which roughly translates to “The Day the Ice Thaws”. As its name suggests, this holiday is celebrated whenever the body of water that the Leanan lives next to thaws for the last time before spring. On this day, Leanans will float thousands of candle topped leaf boats into its waters, and will spend the entire day feasting, performing plays and other art with their illusions, and simply enjoying themselves.

Fighting

Powers

Leanans have innate water magic abilities, and are naturally skilled with whatever water magic specialty their swirls represent.

Leanan’s wings aren’t physically attached to them because they are created through magic. This magic is innate and requires very, very small amounts of mana and thus requires no extra work or thought to maintain. But, if a Leanan so wills it or if they are low enough on mana, their wings will temporarily dissipate.

Preferred Fighting Style

Leanan fighting styles depend upon the individual.

Weaknesses

Leanans with swirls on their hands are weak to individuals that are blind or that have True Sight. Leanans with swirls at the nape of their necks are weak to individuals that are deaf or that have Silver Ears. Leanans with swirls at the corners of their eyes are weak to individuals with The Returning.

Lauman

life fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

The official name for Life Fairy is Lauman.

Skin

Laumans have the same skin possibilities as Humans, except that on their stomachs (particularly circling their belly buttons) they have small plant or animal designs (in any color, but must be a solid color), similar in appearance to tattoos. For the plant designs, Laumans can have any plant in any design including vines, leaves, flowers, trees, grass, or even mushrooms. As for the animal designs, the animal pictured tends to be the Lauman’s spirit animal.

Eyes

Laumans can have any eye color, and Heterochromia iridium (two different-colored eyes) is more common among Laumans than any other race.

Hair

Laumans have the same hair possibilities as Humans.

Body

Laumans have large butterfly-like wings that can be any color(s).

Age

Laumans have a maximum lifespan of 800 years.

History/Information

Laumans are one of the four fairy groups of Alya, the biggest fairy city in Annwn, and thus they share most of their History/Information with these other groups. Laumans specifically, are recognized due to their duties in the city of Alya to grow and farm the city’s food, take care of the city’s giant mushrooms and flowers, and take care of the giant and regular animals that the city depends upon. Outside of Alya, Laumans are known as the gentlest and most nurturing of the Fairy subspecies. As such, Laumans that live outside of the city of Alya are often the most prized members of their communities, and people who know a Lauman often may even fight over who is better friends with them.

Outside Laumans, though, tend to worship the Goddess of Earth who they know as Atira.

Family

Laumans have an average family unit of 6 people, as it is a common value among Laumans that 3 or more children is the ideal for families.

Laumans outside the city of Alya, have four holidays, each of which is on the first day of a season, during each of which a festival is held to honor Atira and thank her for supporting them through the seasons.

Fighting

Powers

Laumans have innate nature/life magic abilities in that they can talk to animals, control plants, and can heal wounds and illnesses.

Preferred Fighting Style

Laumans have too great of a respect for life to ever want to harm a living creature, but if forced to fight, they will use the plants and animals around them.

Weaknesses

Laumans are weak to Necrotic damage.

Mirtisan

death fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

The official name for Death Fairy is Mirtisan.

Skin

Mirtisans have the same skin possibilities as humans, except that one of their upper arms they have designs of small black or grey dots, similar in appearance to tattoos. These designs appear on a Mirtisan one dot at a time throughout their lives, as each dot represents a Lost Soul they have guided to the afterlife. Some Mirtisans save so many souls, that this pattern extends out onto the rest of their bodies.

Eyes

Mirtisans can have any eye color, though shades of grey or white are the most common.

Hair

Mirtisans can have black, grey, red, white, silver, or brown hair.

Body

Mirtisans have black or grey wasp-like wings that typically have patterns of holes in the wings, sometimes making them appear ragged (but not affecting their ability to fly).

Age

Mirtisans have a maximum lifespan of 3000 years.

History/Information

Mirtisans have what are arguably the worst reputations throughout all of Annwn, as they are colloquially known as Death Fairies, which has led to many misconceptions. Many people throughout Annwn have many beliefs about Mirtisans, but the most popular are that Mirtisans are either harbingers of death, servants to the God of Darkness, or beings that can kill anyone with the touch of a finger. None of these rumors are true, however, as in fact Mirtisans are very peaceful beings who are tasked with guiding Lost Souls to the afterlife. Unfortunately, though, not many people know this, as Mirtisans are not only the rarest type of fairy but they are also the most intimidating due to the rumors surrounding their existence.

Mirtisans typically live in areas of high spiritual energy such as graveyards, temples, battlefields, and even in The Wastelands in order to aide in their work of finding and helping lost spirits as they try to move on to the afterlife. In regards to origin, Mirtisans are speculated to have been created by The God of Death in order to help aide him in his duties.

Culture

Religion

Mirtisans worship the God of Death that they know as Tuoni. It is very uncommon for a Mirtisan to worship any other God, as from a young age, each Mirtisan meets Tuoni; affirming their faith.

Family

Mirtisans are the rarest fairy on Annwn, so they typically tend to stay together in large family groups that have an average of 15 people.

Traditions

Given their few numbers, Mirtisans have not been able to hold onto many traditions that span their entire race. The only big tradition that has stuck, is the tradition known as “Cuiva” which roughly translates to “The Awakening”. This is a celebration held when a Mirtisan turns 100. On this day, a somber ritual is held during which the Mirtisan who is coming of age, will lay in meditation on an alter surrounded by their friends and family. During this ritual, the friends and family of the person will bow their heads in prayer, while the person is visited inside their subconscious by Tuoni. During this meeting, the person will swear their faith to Tuoni, and when they awaken, their very first black dot will show on their skin; marking them as blessed by Tuoni. It is almost unheard of, but unfortunately still possible, that a Mirtisan will awaken from their meditative state without this mark. If this is the case, it means that Tuoni has refused to welcome the Mirtisan as a guide of souls. This has only happened roughly 1000 times in all of Mirtisan recorded History/Information, but every time it does, the person that is rejected is said to be insincere, spiteful, and easy to anger. Those that are rejected by Tuoni are also rejected by all other Mirtisans, and those that speak to a rejected Mirtisan are exiled as well.

Fighting

Powers

Mirtisans have innate abilities to hear, see, touch, and speak to Lost Souls, and innate psychic magic abilities that allow them to see into the Lost Soul’s past, present, and future. (Since Lost Souls are in the plane of Aequether, this means that Mirtisans (and Demons) can see and interact freely with this plane.)

Preferred Fighting Style

Mirtisans have a great respect for death, and in hopes of not making their own jobs more difficult by creating more Lost Souls, they typically avoid all fighting. However, if they must or they choose to (typically only exiled Mirtisans ever choose to fight), they will use their weapon of choice in combination with their psychic magic abilities in order to anticipate and dodge attacks.

Weaknesses

Mirtisans are only weak in combat to those that can be faster than their ability to predict attacks. Races that typically have this innate speed are Sky Lamias, Vampires, Vejasans, and Elementals.

Ziemian

earth fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

The official name for Earth Fairy is Ziemian.

Skin

Ziemian have the same skin possibilities as humans, except that on their lower legs and ankles, they have colorful designs (in any color, but must be one solid color) of minerals, gems, rocks, and sometimes even islands, that are similar to tattoos in appearance. These designs correlate to the Ziemian’s earth magic. For example, if a Ziemian has a design of sapphires, they are able to create sapphires and use the magical properties of sapphires at will. Another example is if a Ziemian has a design of a specific island chain. This can mean one of two things. The first being that the Ziemian has been chosen by The Goddess of Earth to preside over the island chain (which is likely a holy area), where they will build a mighty temple of stone and gem in her honor, and never let the soil of the islands become barren of nutrients nor minerals. The second, on the other hand, only happens if the island chain does not already exist. In this case, the Ziemian will devote their entire life to creating the island chain piece by piece.

Eyes

Ziemians can have brown, black, or grey eyes.

Hair

Ziemians can have any hair color, but the color usually matches the dominant color of their wings. Ziemian hair also tends to be softer and fluffier than the other fairy subspecies’.

Body

Ziemians have moth-like wings that can be in any color, but the thing that makes them most unique from other fairies is that Ziemians have a minimum of 4 arms and a maximum of 8 arms; the number of which is purely genetic.

Age

Ziemians have a maximum lifespan of 500 years, making them the shortest lived of all the fairy subspecies.

History/Information

Ziemians are one of the four fairy groups of Alya, the biggest fairy city in Annwn, and thus they share most of their History/Information with these other groups. Ziemians specifically, are recognized due to their duties in the city of Alya to ensure the maintenance of the gem, mineral, and precious resource deposits and the quality of the soil within the city limits. Outside of Alya, however, Ziemians live peaceful lives, typically choosing to live alongside Mountain Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Giants as they help replenish the resources of their mines. Both inside and outside of the city, Ziemians are often mistaken for Laumans because of the similarities of their wings (Laumans having butterfly-like wings and Ziemians having moth-like wings). They find this very offensive, though, as they typically view Laumans as leeches that feed off of the plentiful resources of the earth, without ever giving back. This grudge is one sided though, as Laumans tend to be very carefree and slow to anger.

Outside Ziemians, though, tend to worship the Goddess of Earth who they know as Atore.

Family

Ziemians have an average family unit of 3 people.

Ziemians outside of Alya, though, have 25 holidays. 12 of these are held at the beginning of each month to ask Atore for blessings in the coming weeks, and another 12 are at the end of each month to thank Atore for the blessings by returning some of their magic to the earth. The last holiday is held in the middle of January called “Ona N'alaquel Annwn’Re” which roughly translates to “The Day to Give Back to Annwn”. During this holiday, a great festival is held during the 3 days leading up to the holiday during which the Ziemians spend 3 days relaxing, feasting, and storing up as much magical energy as possible. After the 3 days, the Ziemians will take all of the magic that they have saved in their bodies and pour it back into the earth. This will typically exhaust a Ziemian and leave them incapable of moving for an entire day. As this makes them very vulnerable, in response to the magic the earth is given, the earth will rise up and over the bodies of the Ziemians; protecting them until they are able to rise once more.

Fighting

Powers

Ziemians have innate earth magic abilities.

Preferred Fighting Style

Ziemians typically prefer melee combat, using weapons made of earth or gem.

Weaknesses

Ziemians are weak to air magic.

Vejasan

wind fairy.jpg

Physical Attributes

General

The official name for Wind Fairy is Vejasan.

Skin

Vejasans have the same skin possibilities as humans, except for the designs on their backs of clouds, storms, or a symbolic item blowing in the wind that can be either yellow or white, and are similar in appearance to tattoos. What the designs depict, show the ‘job’ of the Vejasan. For example, a Vejasan with a rain storm design is in charge of guiding rain storms; while a Vejasan with a design of leaves blowing in the wind is in charge of helping the Autumn leaves fall; and while a Vejasan with a gentle cloud design is in charge of aiding in the creation and movement of clouds.

Eyes

Vejasans are unique when it comes to their eyes in that their eyes are bug-like and the minimum number of eyes a Vejasan can have is 3 while the maximum number is 10. The number of eyes is purely genetic.

Hair

Vejasans can have any hair color, though, white is the most common.

Body

Vejasans have dragonfly-like wings and have a minimum of 1 set (that’s 4 separate wings), but a maximum of 4 sets (that’s 16 separate wings). The more sets a Vejasan has, the faster they are.

Age

Vejasans have a maximum lifespan of 900 years.

History/Information

Vejasans are one of the four fairy groups of Alya, the biggest fairy city in Annwn, and thus they share most of their History/Information with these other groups. Vejasans specifically, are recognized due to their duties in the city of Alya to create and maintain favorable weather conditions. Outside of Alya, they are a nomadic people that typically do not stay in one area for more than a month, as they follow the migration patterns of the Jupiter Butterfly (a magic butterfly with the ability to teleport that is especially meaty and is the bison equivalent of in the insect world) which is their main food source. Vejasans are the only race able to track the teleportation migration of these butterflies. As with most nomadic peoples, Vejasans are also a fairly tribal people outside of Alya.

Outside Vejasans, though, tend to worship the God of Air who they know as Jupiter.

Family

Vejasans are the only fairies whose young hatch from eggs (these eggs are soft shelled, and insect-like). Vejasans can lay anywhere from 10 – 28 eggs per birth; thus making Vejasans the most common of all the fairy subspecies. Vejasans can only give birth twice in their lifetime. Vejasans have an average family unit of 21 people.

Vejasans outside of Alya, though, have 2 main holidays. The first holiday is called “Wien Tulien”, which roughly translates to “The coming of the Wings”. On this holiday, which takes place on the first day of Spring, the Vejasans who have turned 6 in the previous year will gather to be “taught” to use their wings. Vejasans typically have a much harder time learning to use their wings due to the fact that many of them have multiple sets, which makes them difficult to maneuver. So, on this holiday, the young Vejasans will be literally “pushed out of the nest” as they are pushed off a cliff by their parents, and forced to learn to fly in order to save their lives. Most succeed at this, as even though the process is difficult, the urgency of saving their own lives typically prevails. But, the few that do fail (this is very rare, usually only about two per year), either die in the fall or survive by using air magic to slow their descent. Those that survive in this way, must either run away from the tribe or have their wings ripped out by their parents. The second holiday is called “Núr’Re” which roughly translates to “Race Day”. This holiday is much more lighthearted, and entails a festival and a series of races. On this day, ages 7-700 will take part in races that are grouped depending on the number of wing sets. This means that there are four races in total, all of which end with the top 10 racers of each race being awarded the right to sit at the main feast table where they are pampered with delicious food until midnight.

Physical Attributes

General

The official name for Light Fairy is Hikarian.

Skin

Hikarians can have green, blue, white, or human skin colors. They are unique in their skin markings compared to most other fairies in that they have markings entirely unique to the individual. The only thing that remains a constant is the location of the marks in that the markings will be in the location of how they died in their previous life.

Hikarians can have any eye color, but white is the most common.

Hikarians can have any hair color, but white is the most common.

Age

Hikarians have a maximum lifespan of 1000 years.

History/Information

Hikarians are similar to Ellylldan in that they are reborn souls, but instead of being reborn into a fairy as a punishment, Hikarians are reborn as a gift. Hikarians are made when, very rarely, a child that died too soon is pitied by Shai, the God of fate. Shai will see the pain and suffering they experienced, and grant them rebirth as a Light Fairy. In their reborn life, they will be immune to poison and disease, and cannot be physically harmed before reaching their age of maturity at 100 years old (though they can still feel pain). Hikarians will not remember their past life immediately after being born, but will remember it once they turn 50 years old. This is to ensure they are not troubled by their past right away.

Hikarians can be born to any other race, and giving birth to a Hikarian is seen as a blessing from the gods upon the family they are born into. If two Hikarians have a child, that child has only a 10% higher chance of being another Hikarian, and it is more likely that the Hikarian couple has a child that is of an entirely different race.

Culture

Religion

Most Hikarians worship Shai, as they have an innate sense of longing to worship him regardless of if they know that it was Shai that reincarnated them.

Family

Hikarians have an average family unit of whatever race their family is.

Traditions

Hikarians have two traditions that most everyone knows about since most everyone knows of the possibility of a Hikarian being born to any race. The first is the coming of age ceremony known as "Treui'Re", held on February 2nd of each year, where the Hikarians that have turned 100 that year are taken to a temple of Shai where they will undergo a series of trials in order to gain their innate magic. Hikarians are born without the ability to use any magic at all (other than the ability of all Fairies to grow and shrink), but upon completing these trials will be granted their magic by Shai. There are three trials in this ceremony, the first of which is a test of physical prowess, wherein the Hikarians must show their physical abilities such as speed or strength. The second is a test of inner strength where the Hikarian will be confronted with images of their past life, particularly that of their death. Finally, the third is a test of patience where the Hikarians must spend 24 hours locked in a dark room alone. The goal of these trials is not to succeed in them, but rather to acknowledge one's shortcomings. So long as all trials are completed, regardless of success in them, the Hikarians will gain their magic abilities.

Fighting

Powers

Hikarians have innate magic that is dependent upon the individual. They cannot be harmed until they reach maturity.

Preferred Fighting Style

Hikarians tend to stay away from fighting as they are more focused on enjoying their second life to the fullest. But if forced to fight, the method by which they will do so is dependent upon the individual.

Weaknesses

Hikarians are weak to any attacks directed at the area their markings are located. But they cannot be harmed in this way or any way until they reach maturity.
