Elementals are magical constructs given life through either black or white magic. Constructed Elementals are ageless and can only be killed by the one that created them, but Born Elementals have a maximum lifespan of 1000 years.
There are two classifications of Elementals - black and white; (‘black’ meaning that they were created from black magic and ‘white’ meaning that they were created from white magic) of these two classifications there two categories of Elementals – constructed and born; and of these two categories there are four types of Elementals - fire, earth, water, and air. First, there are the black and white classifications. An Elemental can be identified as being either ‘black’ or ‘white’ by the very faint aura of light that is always present around them that is either black or white. This classification has no effect on the personality nor soul of the individual Elemental, but rather shows their (or their ancestors’) original purpose.
Second, are the constructed and born categories. A Constructed Elemental is one that was created and not born. Elementals can only be ‘constructed’ through extremely powerful magic that requires a superior soul (Superior souls are fully developed souls that can be placed in beings that are capable of abstract thought and profound spiritual progress. They are the opposite of inferior souls.). This means either calling upon a soul from the underworld (extremely high level magic), having a God call upon a soul from the underworld (requires less power, but Gods can be tricky to deal with), or having a living person that is willing to be killed and have their soul transferred to the Elemental (the participant cannot be unwilling; if someone tries to force this, the magic will claim the souls of everyone within a 100 foot radius of the magic circle)(Lost Souls cannot be used as they are trapped in the stage between life and death). When a Constructed Elemental is created, they are soul bound to their creator and are required to protect them at all costs (even if it costs them their life). This binding can only be broken if the Constructed Elemental’s creator dies, in which case the Constructed Elemental can become soul-bound to whoever else they choose. If the creator is still alive, the binding can only be transferred to another person if the creator sacrifices something of great emotional value to them (this can be an item, a body part, or even a memory) (it has to be something that the creator feels emotionally connected to). A creator can choose who the Constructed Elemental will be bound to, and the person that it is transferred to will have all the power of the original creator over the Constructed Elemental. Because of this, many people that can make Constructed Elementals make a lucrative business out of selling Constructed Elementals to people. A Born Elemental on the other hand can be created one of two ways; they can be born of two Elemental parents or they can be born through magic. The second one is extremely rare, but it is possible. This happens if a highly powerful mage gets the consent of both the mother and the soul of the unborn child that is inside the mother. If this happens, then the child is born as an Elemental. Born Elementals are different from Constructed Elementals in that Born Elementals are not soul bound to anyone or anything, but all unbound Elementals have an extremely strong longing deep inside them to find someone to pledge themselves to. In most cases this means serving as a protector for someone they respect, but in rare cases it can be for love (in especially rare cases, this will be two Elementals that pledge themselves to each other as a form of marriage). This bond is just as binding as those of Constructed Elementals, and the normal rules of soul-binding apply.
When an Elemental is created, the chosen element is taken from the environment around them. The creator gets no choice in what type of element is used nor what Elemental is created. The creator can try to perform the spell in an area that may increase the chances of a certain elemental (ie: performing the spell on the water in the hopes of creating a water elemental), but generally this has little to no effect on the element used.
Elementals retain no memories of their previous life or of any time they may have spent in the underworld. Elementals do need to eat to survive just like a Human would.
Born Elementals tend to worship the God of their element (i.e. Earth Elementals usually worship the Goddess of Earth).
Constructed Elementals tend to worship the God that their creator or master worships.
Born Elementals have an average family unit of 5, as they value family and relationship ties above all else, and feel that the more they have, the better.
Constructed Elementals typically do not have families outside of their creator or master.
Born Elementals are raised to take their pledge extremely seriously, and it is often seen as their life purpose to find the right person to give their pledge to.
Constructed Elementals have the same traditions as their creator or master.
Elementals have innate magic abilities of their element (i.e. Earth Elementals have innate earth magic abilities).
Fire Elementals, Water Elementals, and Air Elementals all have the ability to fly, as they can create wings made of their element at will (wing type is based on the individual and is genetic for born Elementals/aka they aren’t able to choose their wing shape).
Elementals are not of flesh and blood and can’t be harmed by weapons or illnesses. They can only be harmed by magic. If attacked by a non-magic weapon, their skin/body will be cut or will cave like a normal person’s but will heal back to normal in 0.2 seconds (if an object is jammed into the body, healing will only start once the object is removed).
Preferred Fighting Style
Elementals typically prefer distance fighting with their elemental magic.
Constructed Elementals can only be killed by their creator, but they can be trapped if their soul stone (the stone that houses their soul) is separated from their physical form (these stones are indestructible to all except their creator).
Born Elementals are killed if their soul stone is shattered.
Constructed Elementals will have the name their creator gives them (this depends on the race of the creator).
Born Elementals will typically have names related to their soul stones (i.e. an Earth Elemental with a green soul stone may have the name Emerald or Jade).
Fire Elementals are essentially Humans made of fire.
Fire Elementals can have Human skin colors as well as red, orange, yellow, white, or blue skin.
Fire Elementals can have their soul stones located anywhere inside their chest (this can include shoulders). Soul Stones are not visible to anyone except other Elementals.
Fire Elementals can have red, orange, yellow, white, or blue eyes.
Fire Elementals have hair that is made of fire.
Fire elementals look Human except for their skin color and hair. Despite being made of fire, they are not extra hot (they can’t burn things by touching them) and they are not affected by water (it doesn’t harm them). Their skin (despite actually being made of fire) will feel, act, and react like normal skin.
Earth Elementals are essentially Humans made of earth.
Earth Elementals can have skin color of any type of stone, dirt, gem, or etc.
Earth Elementals can have their soul stones located anywhere in their legs or feet. Soul Stones are not visible to anyone except other Elementals.
Earth Elementals have the same eye color as their skin color.
Earth Elementals have hair made of any type of stone, dirt, gem, or etc.
Earth Elementals look Human except for their skin color and hair. Despite being made of earth, Earth Elementals are not extra heavy and they can swim. Their skin (despite actually being made of earth) will feel, act, and react like normal skin.
Water Elementals are essentially Humans made of water.
Water Elementals can have Human skin colors as well as blue or snow white skin.
